Wheel adapters/spacers Empty Wheel adapters/spacers

Post by austink Tue Oct 25, 2011 3:11 pm

Alright so I figured out what wheels I want, now the fun part. Who is good at figuring out the proper spacer need to get the correct stance and fitment needed?

Beetle wheel specs
18x8 35 offset is what I have now, the rear wheel sinks in just a tad and the front sits just about flush

Sawblade specs:
front:17x9.5 +54 offset
rear: 17x11 +36 offset
the back spacing is 7.4" on these wheels

Do I need to measure from the front of the hub to the inner fender well to see what my backspacing is to come up with what size spacer I will need for these?

I drew them out on AutoCAD real quick.

The front wheel lip will end up in the exact same place as your stock 8" wheel.

the rear wheel lip will be 1.46" out from where your stock 8" wheel is now.
I can post a pic if needed.

Your front will be the exact same as stated above.. but you will have 38MM less clearance on the inside. Make sure it wont hit your struts/etc.

Your rears are going to stick out 37mm more than your current setup.. as well as having 39mm less on the inside..

Would it be best to go ahead and order the wheels and then figure out spacers once I get the wheels in?

Dude....You will NOT need spacers.

You may just want to get the 9.5 all the way around. If so, you could run a spacer in the rear to get it to flush.

I'm going to have to run adapters for these wheels. they come in different widths so thats what I am referring to as a spacer.

you could run the adapter and as long as you dont need to space it out much just use the spacers you get from oreillys. been runnin on them for a while with no troubles

Why not get your hubs drilled to accept the correct bolt pattern?

If you run any adapter or spacer, the 9.5" wheel will stick out. poked if you will.

Because I don't know about any of this. It's all new to me. Where would I take the hubs to get that done?

or you could make a fixture to bolt onto your existing lugs and have a hole in it to help you make a pilot hole and redrill your rotors and hubs yourself for next to nothing
